The Seeklander Standards, crafted by Mike Seeklander, owner of Shooting-Performance LLC and co-owner of the American Warrior Society, is a 50-round course designed to test a shooter’s accuracy, speed, and adaptability. With a 7-second PAR time per string and no makeup shots allowed, this challenging standard evaluates performance across different distances and shooting techniques, reflecting Mike’s extensive experience in both competitive shooting and federal law enforcement firearms training.
Course Setup:
Targets: 2 targets, 3 yards apart.
Distance: Ranges from 10 to 20 yards.
Round Count: 50 rounds total.
PAR Time: 7 seconds per string.
Makeup Shots: Not allowed.
Strings of Fire:
String One: From 20 yards, engage T1 with 5 shots, perform a reload, and engage T2 with another 5 shots.
String Two: From 20 yards, engage T2 with 5 shots, perform a reload, and engage T1 with another 5 shots.
String Three: From 10 yards, engage T1 using your strong hand only with 5 shots, perform a reload, and engage T1 again with another 5 shots.
String Four: From 10 yards, engage T2 using your support hand only with 5 shots, perform a reload, and engage T2 again with another 5 shots.
String Five: From 10 yards, engage the left head of T1 with 5 shots and the right head of T2 with 5 shots.
Scoring:
Major Scoring: Points are awarded as 5 for A-zone, 4 for B-zone, and 2 for C-zone hits.
Minor Scoring: Points are awarded as 5 for A-zone, 3 for B-zone, and 1 for C-zone hits.
Penalties: One 5-point deduction for each shot taken over the PAR time of 7 seconds.
This standard not only assesses a shooter's marksmanship but also their ability to handle reloads under time constraints and adapt to shooting with both strong and support hands. The Seeklander Standards are a comprehensive test of a shooter’s ability to perform fundamental skills at a high level of proficiency and under realistic conditions
