The Lockwood 4x4 Challenge, created by Isaac Lockwood, a Grand Master in USPSA's Carry Optics division and a sheriff’s deputy in Shasta County, California, is a quick and demanding drill designed to test a shooter’s speed and precision.
Course Setup:
Range: 4 yards.
Target: Standard A-zone target.
Start Position: Pistol in the holster.
Rounds Fired: 4 rounds total.
Drill Execution:
On the start signal, draw from the holster and fire 4 rounds cleanly into the A-zone of the target in under 1 second.
Objective:
The goal is to complete the drill in less than 1 second, emphasizing rapid draw, accurate shooting, and effective trigger control.
