Lockwood 4x4 Challenge

The Lockwood 4x4 Challenge, created by Isaac Lockwood, a Grand Master in USPSA's Carry Optics division and a sheriff’s deputy in Shasta County, California, is a quick and demanding drill designed to test a shooter’s speed and precision.

Course Setup:

  • Range: 4 yards.

  • Target: Standard A-zone target.

  • Start Position: Pistol in the holster.

  • Rounds Fired: 4 rounds total.

Drill Execution:

  • On the start signal, draw from the holster and fire 4 rounds cleanly into the A-zone of the target in under 1 second.

Objective:

  • The goal is to complete the drill in less than 1 second, emphasizing rapid draw, accurate shooting, and effective trigger control.

Isaac Lockwood’s 4x4 Challenge is a high-speed drill that pushes the shooter to achieve maximum efficiency and accuracy in a very short time frame, making it a valuable test for those looking to enhance their performance in competitive shooting.
