Anyone can shoot fast.
But can you shoot fast and clean? Speed without control is just noise. The Cadence and Control drill is your path to mastering rhythm, recoil, and repeatable accuracy—all using the Fusion Target’s hex zones.

Drill Breakdown:
This drill is about timing, not racing. You’ll fire controlled strings of 5 rounds into the hex zones of the Fusion Target, with intentional cadence changes built in. Each round should land with purpose, not panic.
Target: Fusion Target (Hex Zones)
Range: 5–7 yards
Start Position: Low Ready
Rounds: 20 (4 strings of 5)
Cadences:
1-second splits (deliberate)
0.5-second splits (moderate)
0.25–0.3-second splits (fast)
Back to 1-second splits (recovery)
This sequence teaches shooters how to manage recoil, maintain consistent grip pressure, and keep sight alignment steady even as speed increases.
Pro-Tip:
Say the cadence out loud as you shoot. Literally count the rhythm: “One-thousand-one, one-thousand-two. one-thousand-three…” for slow, “One-and-two-and-three...” for medium, and a tight “one-two-three” for fast reps. Verbal cadence helps sync your body to the rhythm—and keeps you from outrunning your sights.
